NEWSLETTER OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CATANIA

Giovanni Dagnino and Pasquale Massimo Picone win the “Best Paper Proceedings”

The Academy of Management has awarded the Best Paper Proceedings achievement to the two fellows of the University of Catania. They will take part in the Academy Annual Meeting in Philadelphia in early August
Giovanni Battista Dagnino, professor of Business Economics and Management, and Pasquale Massimo Picone, post-doctoral Research Fellow in Management and lecturer of Corporate Finance in the Department of Economics and Business of the University of Catania (Dei), have received – with their co-authors, Maurizio La Rocca (University of Calabria) and Claudio Giachetti (University of Venice “Ca’ Foscari”) – the “Best Paper Proceedings” of the Academy of Management, the most important global academy gathering some 20,000 management students and scholars from worldwide.
The two Sicilian scholars have been rewarded for submitting for inclusion in the program of the Academy of Management Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, August 1-5 2014, one of the very best works (out the roughly five thousand received).

The prestigious recognition goes to an explorative study on the corporate governance preconditions of internationalization of Italian firms observed through the lens of the agency theory. The outcomes of the research will appear shortly in the internationally renown “Best Papers Proceedings of the 2014 Academy of Management Meeting”.
